SW Washington Elder Abuse Prevention Coalition (SWEAP) is happy to announce that we are kicking off a FREE COMMUNITY EDUCATION SEMINAR SERIES in 2018! SWEAP received a grant from the Clark County Realtor Foundation to bring education about issues important to seniors and their caregivers, with the goal of reducing incidents of elder abuse, mistreatment and exploitation in our community and improving community response to such incidents.
We chose the title “Knowledge and Resilience Seminar Series”.
KNOWLEDGE is what allows people to maintain control over their own circumstances and to intervene effectively on behalf of others. We want to create a strong base of knowledge in the community with our seminar series.
RESILIENCE means adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or significant sources of stress. Everyone should strive for resilience. We are aware that seniors and their caregivers are experiencing adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or significant sources of stress at high rates. We plan to give tools for developing resilience with our seminar series.
We invite you to join us for our second of four lectures:
